Vote on School Capital Projects

Voting on the following proposal will be held Tuesday, Sept. 28 at the Munciipal Building and the Tri-County Firehouse.
PROPOSAL:
The Board of Education of the Warren Hills Regional School District in the County of Warren, New Jersey is authorized to (A) expand, renovate, upgrade and equip the Middle School and the High School to provide additional instructional space, upgraded/expanded core facilities, upgraded building systems and site improvements; (B) construct an athletic field and related facilities; (C) expend on such projects an aggregate amount not exceeding $42,884,168, which expenditure shall be funded, in part, with a $13,021,869 State grant, based on final eligible costs of $25,801,005 (preliminarily allocable $2,894,149 to the Middle School and $22,906,856 to the High School) as determined by the Commissioner of Education; and (D) issue bonds in an aggregate amount not exceeding $29,862,299 representing the School District’s local share of projects costs (preliminarily allocable $2,871,525 to the Middle School, $20,904,019 to the High School and $6,086,755 to the athletic field and related facilities). The local shares may be transferred among the projects. In addition, the Board shall be authorized to issue an additional amount of school bonds in the amount of the State grant pending receipt of the State grant. The Middle School and High School projects include no school facilities construction elements in addition to the facilities efficiency standards developed by the Commissioner of Education, or that are not otherwise eligible for State support pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:7G-5(g). The athletic field and related facilities project is an other capital project and is not eligible for State support.
