Mansfield to Share Court

Mansfield and Washington townships have reached a shared court agreement which was signed by the townships’ mayors on Dec. 28. The agreement provides a set amount that Washington Township will pay Mansfield during each year of its three-year term for the use of its court space and personnel.
“The agreement provides transparency to both townships,” said Committeeman George Baldwin. “It allows Washington Township to anticipate costs for the next three years and it guarantees Mansfield a certain amount of revenue, which is important because we will need to add an extra staff position.”
The agreement is expected to save Mansfield $25,000 to $30,000 per year.
“Washington Township is very greatful to partner with Mansfield Township to provide a share court for our communities,” David Dempski, Mayor of Washingotn Township said. “By working together, we provide a shared service that has measurable cost savings to both Townships.”
