Recreation Commission

Meets the last Tuesday of the month at 8:00 p.m, at the Municipal Building in the meeting room.

The Mansfield Township Recreation Commission is an all-volunteer board that runs youth programs for basketball, cheerleading, field hockey, football, soccer, and softball. Our duties include the purchasing and distribution of equipment, uniforms and other supplies, registration, composition of teams, scheduling (in coordination with leagues), preparation of fields, and selection and certification of coaches. Soccer is offered in the spring and fall, softball is played in the spring, field hockey, cheerleading and football take place in the fall, and basketball takes place in the winter.

In addition to these responsibilities, the commission oversees the development of existing park facilities and is currently developing plans for a new 128-acre park site on Port Murray Road. Volunteers are welcomed for board activities as well as coaching positions.
