Tax AssessorThe tax assessor has the duty of assessing property for the purpose of general taxation. Other duties include discovery and location of all property within the municipality, listing all property in the assessor’s field book, determination of taxability of all property, maintenance of sales equalization ratio, deduction, exemption and rebate programs and defense of all appeals. The Assessor also oversaw the completion of the recent revaluation program; the results of which went into effect in 2003.
