Chairperson – Recycle your home and office proucts or find products for free at freecycle.com Senior CitizensMeets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 1:30 p.m. For ages 60 and above. There is a speaker and refreshments at most meetings. Check the news section for information on trips, including luncheons, theater programs and over-nighters. Trip costs include bus fare. Visit the senior group and see if this can make your day, or for more information, call the group’s president at the number below. President – Margaret Dickerson - 689-4761 Recreation CommissionMeets the last Tuesday of the month at 8:00 p.m. The Mansfield Township Recreation Commission is an all-volunteer board that runs youth programs for basketball, cheerleading, field hockey, football, soccer, and softball. Our duties include the purchasing and distribution of equipment, uniforms and other supplies, registration, composition of teams, scheduling (in coordination with leagues), preparation of fields, and selection and certification of coaches. Soccer is offered in the spring and fall, softball is played in the spring, field hockey, cheerleading and football take place in the fall, and basketball takes place in the winter. In addition to these responsibilities, the commission oversees the development of existing park facilities and is currently developing plans for a new 128-acre park site on Port Murray Road. Volunteers are welcomed for board activities as well as coaching positions.
