Dangerous Dead Trees
Due to certain pests that are not native to this county, we have experienced more trees dying, and these trees may pose a danger to your family or the public. We would like to remind Township of Mansfield residents that the Township’s Property Maintenance Code requires that standing dead trees on your property are required to be removed, especially when it poses a danger of falling onto roads, sidewalks, and/or power lines. Ordinance 2023-19 which was adopted July 12, 2023, states “it shall be the duty of the owner of any lands in the Township of Mansfield to maintain, trim, upkeep, and if necessary, remove, and/or cause to be removed any and all trees located on their property or any property located between their property and a public roadway adjacent to their property.” Please look around your property for any standing dead trees, and if necessary, please take the appropriate action as to prevent the risk of any potential injury and to preserve the public health, safety, and general welfare of the public at large.
